We know you will want to be here for the 4th of July. So many fireworks and cold watermelon. Then you can shop til you drop in Canton July 1st through 5th. Governor Sarah Palin first made history on December 4, 2006 when she was sworn in as the first female governor of Alaska. In August 2008, Senator John McCain tapped Palin to serve as his Vice-Presidential running mate in his presidential campaign, making her the first woman to run on the Republican Party’s presidential ticket. In Alaska, her top priorities included fiscal restraint, limiting the size of government,resource development, education, equitable oil valuation as well as transportation and infrastructure development.

It is a shoppers paradise. Go but be sure to dress cool. You will find whatever you need.

Texas Shakespeare Festival
This is in Kilgore. Only 30 short minutes from Tyler. It lasts on month. from July 2 to August 2.

73rd Annual Gladewater Round-Up Rodeo
June 4th through June 12th
Since its beginning in 1938, the Gladewater Round-Up Rodeo has grown to be one of the premier rodeos in the country. At the 2008 PRCA convention held in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Gladewater Round-Up Rodeo was selected as one of the top 5 medium outdoor rodeos in the nation. Also in April of 2008 The Gladewater Round Up Rodeo Committee was inducted into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame.Keith Isley, 2009 Clown of the year, 2009 Coors Man in the Can, and 2009 Comedy Act of the Year will be here this year as clown/barrel man with his many funny acts along with bull fighter Cory Wall. For his second appearance in Gladewater, we are honored to have Clay Collins as a bullfighter that has worked the NFR the last three years.

The Downtown Tyler ArtWalk is a collaborative effort of the City of Tyler Main Street Department, Gallery Main Street and the Downtown Tyler Arts Coalition. During the ArtWalk you will have the opportunity to stroll the downtown district and enjoy fine art. Each downtown business on the ArtWalk will host an artist in their fabulous downtown business space, and the artist will set up a mini-gallery of their work for your enjoyment. This is the perfect opportunity for artists and the community to connect and enjoy downtown. Downtown Tyler has a blossoming art scene anchored by Gallery Main Street, which is where you can pick up ArtWalk maps to start your stroll. There lots of other things to do in Tyler. There is the Tomatofest in Jacksonville June 12th, Art in the Park at the Goodman Museum in Tyler, also June 12! June 18th Lucas Miller-The Singing Zoologist will be at the public library in Tyler. June 19th The American Girl Reading Club will sponsor activities at the Library also in Tyler. The Berry picking farms are open, plus our Farmer's Markets are busting at the seams with fresh produce.
