If you were near New York City last year, you know that theatre fans were abuzz about the limited-run engagement by two of Broadway’s most venerated performers.
Now, the duo is touring their critically praised show to a few cities. Luckily, Tyler is one of them! Yes, they will be together again on the Cowan Center stage for AN EVENING WITH PATTI LUPONE AND MANDY PATINKIN.
Having both won a Tony Award for their performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s groundbreaking Evita, they have enjoyed successful careers in film, television, the concert stage and Broadway. This intimate show includes choreography by fellow Broadway veteran and friend, Tony Winner Ann Reinking (Chicago). No Broadway fan should miss this one!

Evolution then enabled humankind to reach the moon’s surface, where yet another monolith is found, one that signals the monolith placers that humankind has evolved that far. Now a race begins between computers (HAL) and human (Bowman) to reach the monolith placers. The winner will achieve the next step in evolution, whatever that may be.

Mathis also investigates what is likely to be the greatest challenge ever faced by humanity-trying to run the modern world on less oil. Three years in the making, spOILed blows the lid off our delusions about oil. Fasten your seat belts. It’s going to be a bumpy

Complexions Contemporary Ballet

•Thursday, September 27th, 2012 @ 7:30pm

Sculpture in motion. That’s how The New York Times describes COMPLEXIONS. Witness their mesmerizing contemporary dance performance and you’ll understand why their mission is simple: to celebrate excellence in dance.
They dance to provoke thought and inspire through impassioned performances. The career paths of the company’s founders, Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, paved the way for them to re-definedance. Their multifaceted resumes show that neither has ever been comfortable with his art being placed in a box.
Instead, from E! to PBS, from Cirque de Soleil to So You Think You Can Dance, they have allowed the transformative power of their art to flow freely throughout the entertainment world restricted by nothing but the limits of the human body itself.

“The Hobbit”
Monday, October 1st, 2012 – Sunday, October 7th, 2012
Comedy- By Patricia Gray.

Based on the classic by J.R.R. Tolkien.
It’s unusual for a modern work to become a classic so quickly, but Tolkien’s “ring” stories, which began with The Hobbit, clearly are in this very special category. They stir the imagination and intellect of everyone they touch. Bilbo, one of the most conservative of all Hobbits, is asked to leave his large, roomy and very dry home in the ground in order to set off as chief robber in an attempt to recover an important treasure. It’s the last thing that any sensitive Hobbit would want to do, but great benefit eventually results-not only for Bilbo but for all of the Hobbits who inhabit Middle Earth-and the hearts of those children and adults who continue to enjoy this kind of magic.
