Live Folk Music Concert with Randy Brown

•Saturday, September 29th, 2012 @ 7:00pm
Randy Brown is about as eclectic a songwriter you’ll ever meet. With subjects as diverse as border radio stations, bull nettle for state flower and talking to extraterrestrials with flashlights, his songs often take unexpected turns.
But within the turns and quirks (and even quarks!) lie inventive lyrics and unusual insights. An award-winning songwriter/philosopher who wrote his first song at age 13, Randy’s 2006 CD, Dream Big, has received great reviews and radio airplay. His concert at The Old Firehouse will be a Release Party for his upcoming CD, "But Wait, There’s More". 13+ or with adult, please....

Comedy- By Patricia Gray.
Based on the classic by J.R.R. Tolkien.
It’s unusual for a modern work to become a classic so quickly, but Tolkien’s "ring" stories, which began with The Hobbit, clearly are in this very special category. They stir the imagination and intellect of everyone they touch. Bilbo, one of the most conservative of all Hobbits, is asked to leave his large, roomy and very dry home in the ground in order to set off as chief robber in an attempt to recover an important treasure. It’s the last thing that any sensitive Hobbit would want to do, but great benefit eventually results-not only for Bilbo but for all of the Hobbits who inhabit Middle Earth-and the hearts of those children and adults who continue to enjoy this kind of magic.

Written by Don Nigro and directed by Rebecca Faulds.
Take what you know about Cinderella and toss it out the window, because the only hint of the classic fairy tale is the stepfamily, the ball, and the shoe. What we do have is a dysfunctional family trapped inside a zany, modern day, farcical romp of a fractured fairy tale.

Now a race begins between computers (HAL) and human (Bowman) to reach the monolith placers. The winner will achieve the next step in evolution, whatever that may be.

Complexions Contemporary Ballet

•Thursday, September 27th, 2012 @ 7:30pm
Sculpture in motion. That’s how The New York Times describes COMPLEXIONS. Witness their mesmerizing contemporary dance performance and you’ll understand why their mission is simple: to celebrate excellence in dance.
They dance to provoke thought and inspire through impassioned performances. The career paths of the company’s founders, Dwight Rhoden and Desmond Richardson, paved the way for them to re-definedance. Their multifaceted resumes show that neither has ever been comfortable with his art being placed in a box.
Instead, from E! to PBS, from Cirque de Soleil to So You Think You Can Dance, they have allowed the transformative power of their art to flow freely throughout the entertainment world restricted by nothing but the limits of the human body itself.

"The Hobbit"
Monday, October 1st, 2012 – Sunday, October 7th, 2012
